Applicants who have attended, or who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (college or university), are considered a transfer applicant.
How to Apply Transfer applicants must apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) using the 105D application. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit an application early in 2010. The deadline to apply is February 1 for Media Studies and May 1 for all other programs.
Those who are applying to more than one program at the University of Guelph-Humber must rank their preferences on the application. Applicants will be offered admission to the highest ranked program for which they qualify.
All applicants are encouraged to complete a Mature and Transfer Student Profile form, which will be used for admission, scholarships and residence. Additional documents, such as proof of English Proficiency, may be requested.
Admission Requirements College applicants should have a minimum 75% cumulative average in similar programs to be eligible for admission. University applicants must be in good academic standing at the last university attended and present the required courses (or their equivalents taken at the university or college level) for entry into the program. Please refer to the Admission Requirements page for requirements.
Applicants who did not complete the required courses at the 4U or 4M level may have taken equivalent courses through their college or university course work. Applicants should contact Admission Services, admissions@guelphhumber.ca, to determine if they meet the admission requirements.
Applicants who are deficient in any of the admission requirements must upgrade their course work in order to be eligible for an offer of admission. It is recommended that applicants check for study options and course availability through their local school board or through the Independent Learning Centre.
Recognized Diploma Programs A recognized diploma program is one that has been determined to have close affinity to a University of Guelph-Humber program. Students transferring from a recognized diploma program are normally eligible for admission with a cumulative average of 75% on completion of the diploma.
Submitting Documents and Timing of Offers Transfer applicants are required to arrange for the submission of official transcripts from high school and every post secondary institution attended.
Ontario college and university transcripts can be sent through the OUAC for a small fee, or applicants may request that the school send them to the University of Guelph-Humber. Official transcripts may also be collected by the applicant, and dropped off or mailed to:
University of Guelph-Humber Registrarial Services - Admission 207 Humber College Blvd. Toronto, Ontario M9W 5L7
Transfer applicants must send detailed course outlines along with their transcripts, which will be used for the transfer credit assessment.
It is recommended that transcripts be sent as early as possible. The deadline to submit transcripts is March 1 for the Media Studies program and June 1 for all other programs. Admission decisions will be made beginning in April and will continue to be made through June as admission documents are received.
