Program Profile
The University of Guelph-Humber’s Early Childhood degree program has quickly become one of Ontario’s most sought-after and respected programs with the numbers to prove it; 94% of 2009 Early Childhood graduates are either employed in the field or pursuing further education.
The University is committed to continuing this excellence in early learning and care and the Honours Early Childhood BASc has been designed keeping this in mind. The goal of this program is to recognize the prior academic and workplace experience of early childhood professionals who wish to upgrade their credentials.
University courses will provide students with a solid background in inclusion, family-centered practice, assessment and intervention, counselling, leadership and community/program development. Completion of this Honours Degree will enable students to pursue career advancement in a variety of early childhood settings, in addition to further study in Bachelor of Education Programs or Masters Degree Programs.
The University of Guelph-Humber is located in Toronto. Upon graduation students will receive an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood from the University of Guelph.
Course Delivery Format
Classes are delivered in a hybrid format, combining intensive in-class weekend lectures with online study, this format allows students to complete the full program in 28 months.

Application and Admission Process
The Honours Early Childhood Bachelor of Applied Science is typically open to early childhood professionals with:
• A minimum of three years full-time directly related experience.
• A high-affinity college diploma in Early Childhood Education (or recognized equivalent).
• A minimum 75% cumulative average.
• Applicants who have a 70%-74.9% will still be considered with the submission of a Mature and Transfer Student Profile.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)
Applicants must submit a portfolio following specific guidelines to demonstrate prior learning and professional experience. The portfolio will include a Professional Philosophy Statement demonstrating specific areas of competence, a detailed professional resumé and two letters of reference. Program Cost
Each
course costs approximately $557 not including course materials such as
text books. The total estimated tuition for two years is $10,583.
Applicants are automatically considered for the Academic Merit Entrance
Scholarship based on final cumulative averages. Students may be
eligible for additional in-course awards to assist with costs
