What is a Mature Applicant? Applicants may apply as a mature applicant if they are 21 years of age or older and have been away from full-time secondary school study for a minimum of two full years.
How to Apply Applicants can identify themselves as a Mature Applicant when they apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) using the 105 application. Mature Applicants come to us from a variety of educational backgrounds, therefore, applicant’s should refer to the application information for their applicant type for specific information on applying to the University of Guelph-Humber.
Admission Requirements To qualify for admission as a mature student, applicants must present a secondary school transcript (or equivalent) including a minimum of three credits equivalent to the 4U/M credits, specific subject requirements for admission to the program to which you have applied, and meet the minimum admission average. Subject requirements can be found on the admission requirements page.
Mature applicants are strongly encouraged to complete a Mature and Transfer Student Profile. The Student Profile is the your opportunity to tell the Admissions Committee about activities that they have been involved that have contributed to your personal development, such as work, volunteering and community involvement. Factors beyond the applicant’s control that have negatively affected their academic performance such as illness or personal problems can also be stated in the profile.
