Grad Fair Week starts today
Starting today, University of Guelph-Humber students are taking a first big step toward graduate studies and schools.
During the university’s first annual Grad Fair Week (Oct.17-21) students will “explore their options in furthering their education after graduation,” said Caroline Samrah, Career & Placement Services coordinator.
Daily workshops focus on different types of graduate study: MBA programs (Monday), Teachers College (Tuesday), Law School (Wednesday) or graduate programs (Friday).
Workshops will be delivered by a Career & Placement Services coordinator, along with University of Guelph-Humber alumni enrolled in graduate programs who'll share their experiences with students.
Admissions trends and requirements will be covered. “Testing is a common requirement,” said Samrah. “Many of the graduate programs require students to have completed specific tests, such as the LSAT, GMAT or MCAT.”

On Thursday, students go to the Grad Fair, where they’ll meet with institutions – universities and colleges – and associations from across Ontario to hear about specific programs. These include: McMaster University’s Master of Communications and New Media; Ontario Institute for Studies in Education’s Bachelor of Education; Osgoode Hall Law School’s Juris Doctor; University of Toronto’s Master of Social Work; Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College’s Doctor of Chiropractic Degree; and, the MBA program offered by Brock University’s Faculty of Business.
“The Grad Fair is an interactive information session between the student and the representative,” said Samrah. “From graduate school to post graduate certificate programs, we made sure to invite institutions who have something to offer to every student here at the University of Guelph-Humber.”
The Grad Fair takes place in the University of Guelph-Humber's atrium on Thursday October 20th, 11am-4pm. Drop by GH108 with any questions and more information on the fair and workshops.
