The Emerge Conference is an annual one-day conference that allows young and graduating media professionals to explore and discuss current and emerging trends in the media industry. Created and presented by graduating media studies students at the University of Guelph-Humber, Emerge features high-profile speakers, panel discussions and workshops. Speakers this year include author and musician Dave Bidini, Founder, West End Phoenix; author/journalist Angela Misri, Digitial Director, Walrus; Kevin Donovan, editor, author and investigative reporter at the Toronto Star and Tom Henheffer, media consultant, former Director of News and Digital at VICE Canada and former Executive Director of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
