Dr. Laura Page began teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber in 2018.

She has a PhD in Developmental Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto, where she focused on critical thinking development, self and identity formation, and moral reasoning. She began her career as an Assistant Professor (LTA) at Trent University, before relocating to Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Page has taught courses in many areas: Child, adolescent, family and gender development, educational, social and cognitive psychology, and personality theory, as is now thrilled to take on Introductory Psychology (AHSS 1110).

Dr. Page was nominated by her students for TVOntario’s,“Ontario’s Best Lecturer Competition,” and has won three university teaching awards.  She is now particularly interested in beliefs about learning and achievement goals, and how these are fostered within various educational modalities.

Dr. Page has also published a series of articles exploring the data underlying public rankings of universities, and the potential effects of such exercises on student welfare.
