Dr. Luke Arnason has taught at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2016. An Anglophone from Manitoba, he pursued graduate studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, specialising in seventeenth century dramatic literature. Dr. Arnason has published on the literary study of "baroque" opera, on 17th century dramatic performance practice and has participated in several important digital humanities projects, notably: the Molière 21 database (of intertext in Molière's theatre); and the IDT project on early modern dramatic theory. Since 2011, he has been teaching French language, literature and culture courses in a number of Ontario universities and colleges. Having lived, studied and worked in France, he can offer his students many insights and survival strategies on being an outsider in a Francophone environment. Additionally, having gained native fluency in French as a foreign language, Dr. Arnason can also offer students a wealth of tips and techniques gained (often painfully) from personal experience.
