UofGH Early Childhood expert discusses challenges for students returning to in-class learning

Early Childhood Studies Program Head Dr. Nikki Martyn was interviewed by The Canadian Press in an article about school-age children returning to the classroom this fall.  In the article, Dr. Martyn highlights the challenges that children are facing with the transition from a home learning environment back to in-class learning. She said “older students with more in-person experience are generally doing better than many in kindergarten or Grade 1, whose academic career until September largely took place at the dining room table, in front of a computer screen.”

The article was published by the Toronto StarYahoo, the St. Catherine's Standard and others, and Dr. Martyn has been interviewed by CP24, NewsTalk 1010 and the Globe and Mail. Read the full article here.
