National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Guelph-Humber

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation rock installation.

The Guelph-Humber community is marking the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.

This day is significant for Canadians across the country as it honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

Publicly commemorating the painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is an important part of reconciliation.

There are a couple of ways to participate at Guelph-Humber before and on September 30.

As you arrive on campus you will see a rock art installation outside the front entrance where you can reflect on what National Day for Truth and Reconciliation means to you.

Starting next week in the atrium, a mural will be created on one wall with orange butterflies, where you can share your thoughts to commemorate this important day.

Students and employees are also encouraged to wear orange shirts on September 30.
