Your step-by-step guide for applying to UofGH

Are you considering applying to the University of Guelph-Humber? We are here to help you every step of the way. We know the admission process can seem overwhelming at first, so we’ve broken it down into a few steps.

Whether you are currently attending a high school in Canada, outside of Canada or you already have some postsecondary education, we welcome you to learn more about UofGH and our academic programs.

All of our programs combine academic theory, hands-on experiential learning and workplace experience. In just four years of full-time study, you will graduate with both a university honors degree and a diploma. We have an inclusive, diverse and close-knit community, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and get to know your instructors.

We also offer a range of generous scholarships, awards and bursaries, including the $2,000-$5,000 Renewable Entrance Scholarship for Canadian high school applicants, the $2,000-$5,000 Transfer Student Entrance Scholarship for Canadian transfer applicants, and the $2,000-$8,500 International Student Entrance Scholarship for high school and transfer applicants outside of Canada.

High school applicants in Canada

If you are attending a high school in Ontario or outside of Ontario in Canada, you can apply through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website. On the OUAC website, you will also find FAQs, resources and videos to help you through your application.

Step 1: Browse through our admission requirements.

Step 2: Create an account on the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre website.

If you currently attend a high school in Ontario, use the 101 application. If you attend a high school in another province, use the 105 application.

Step 3: Log in to your OUAC account to browse and add programs.

University of Guelph-Humber programs are listed under the University of Guelph section. You can apply to multiple programs at UofGH, and you will be considered for every program you apply to.

Step 4: Prepare and review your application.

Double check that all your information is accurate, including your personal information, contact information and program choices.

Step 5: Pay your application fees and submit your application by January 15, 2021.

The OUAC application fee is $150 for applicants in Ontario, and $156 for applicants outside of Ontario. Each additional program choice is $50.

Remember to apply by January 15, 2021, so you can be considered for early offers and in all rounds of the admission cycle.

Step 6: Check for an application acknowledgement email.

Thanks for applying! We will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your application.

Step 7: Send in your transcript by April 15, 2021 (out of province applicants).

Arrange for your high school guidance counsellor or administrator to email your official transcript to admissions@guelphhumber.ca. For applicants in Ontario and British Columbia, your grades will be automatically submitted via the OUAC.

Step 8: Complete your supplemental information by May 1, 2021 (optional).

The optional Student Profile and Supplementary Information Form for Students with Disabilities is your opportunity to tell us about factors that may have impacted your academic performance.

International applicants

If you currently reside outside of Canada, you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and you are not currently attending an Ontario high school day program, you can apply as an international applicant.

Step 1: Browse through our admission requirements.

Step 2: Apply online by April 1, 2021 through one of three options.

  • University of Guelph International Online Application: If you will only be applying to the University of Guelph-Humber, we encourage you to use this application. You will pay a reduced application fee of $90 CAD.
  • Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC): Apply through the OUAC website with the 105 application if you are planning to apply to multiple universities or programs in Ontario. The OUAC application fee is $156 CAD for three programs/universities and $50 CAD for each additional program/university. The OUAC website includes FAQs, resources and videos to help you through your application.
  • The Common Application: If you are applying from the U.S. or applying to the University of Guelph-Humber in addition to American colleges, you may apply through The Common Application website.

Step 3: Submit the required documents.

Once your application is received, Admission Services will contact you about the documents you will need to submit.  Arrange for your school counsellor or administrator to send your official transcript and any other required documents to admissions@guelphhumber.ca by April 15, 2021

Step 4: Complete your supplemental information by May 1, 2021 (optional).

The optional Student Profile and Supplementary Information Form for Students with Disabilities is your opportunity to tell us about factors that may have impacted your academic performance.

Transfer applicants

If you have taken courses at the postsecondary level, you can apply through our college block credit transfer pathway or as a general transfer applicant.

Step 1: Apply online through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website. You will want to use the 105 application. The OUAC website has FAQs, resources and videos to help you through your application.

Step 2: Choose your program and rank your preferences.

University of Guelph-Humber programs are listed under the University of Guelph section of the OUAC application.

Step 3: Pay your application fees and submit your application.

You will pay an OUAC application fee of $156 for your first three program choices and an assessment fee of $80. Each additional program choice is $50.

Step 4: Check for an application acknowledgement email.

Thanks for applying! We will send you an email acknowledging receipt of your application.

Step 5: Submit your documents.

Once we have received your application, we will email and mail you your account login and password to WebAdvisor. Log in to WebAdvisor to check your list of required documents, which may include transcripts, exam results or proof of English proficiency.
