Academic Advising

Academic Advisors are available to work with students to help them reach their academic goals. They do this by:

  • Assisting students in developing an education plan.
  • Referring students to on-campus resources.
  • Ensuring students understand and apply university policies, procedures and rules.
  • Helping resolve academic problems, conflicts and concerns.

Each program has an academic advisor. Meet the academic advisors.

Academic advisors will also work with you – the parents, family members and guardians of University of Guelph-Humber students – to ensure your continued involvement in your child’s education and University experience.

Learning Support Peers (LSPs)

LSPs are current students who work with the Academic Advisors and are available to assist your student. They offer support and provide general information about programs, assist with course selection, provide direction in the area of academic and personal support services and resources and inform students of policies and procedures.

Student confidentiality

Academic advisors are responsible for protecting the privacy of each student and the confidentiality of his or her record. Ontario law requires Academic Advisors receive student consent before sharing or discussing personal information with a third party, including parents, family members or guardians. Please keep this in mind when contacting us.
