New Student Transition Program

The University of Guelph-Humber is committed to assisting new students with their transition to university. We offer many programs and services for incoming students to help them prepare for classes and campus life.

In July, we hold Kick Start and Kick Start for Families. Both one-day programs are held at the same time. Through information sessions, speakers and hands-on activities, you and your student learn together about life and learning at University of Guelph-Humber.

All new students will be placed into a First Year Experience (FYE) group with other new students in their academic program. An upper-year student leader called an FYE Leader will help answer questions they have during the summer and throughout the school year. Interaction will take place online over the summer and students will meet their FYE group members face-to-face at Orientation.

During Orientation, new students spend a day preparing for classes, learning more about their program, meeting other students, upper-year leaders and staff.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
