University of Guelph-Humber Relief Fund

The University of Guelph-Humber Relief Fund is intended to assist current University of Guelph-Humber domestic and international students impacted by COVID-19. This fund is open to both part-time and full-time students who require immediate short-term financial relief because of unexpected expenses. You may be eligible to receive up to $500.

Each request for the relief fund is considered on its own merit and based on financial need associated with their educational program and unexpected critical costs incurred as a direct result of COVID-19.  Expenses that may be considered include but are not limited to living costs, return travel, moving costs, technology and other extraordinary and reasonable needs.

This fund is not intended to directly replace lost income. It is expected that students will have reviewed all sources of funding including family support, personal savings and government assistance (e.g. Canada Emergency Student Benefit (CESB), Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), OSAP) as appropriate to replace lost income.  In addition, this fund does not cover expenses unrelated to COVID-19, existing debt obligations or non-essential expenses. Examples of ineligible expenses include but are not limited to tuition fees; support for partner or family expenses; missed loan payments and other discretionary expenses (e.g., gym membership).

If a student receives funding through the University of Guelph-Humber Relief Fund, it can be taken into consideration when applying for other University of Guelph-Humber bursary programs.
