Austria: Challenging Adversity

This course explores the importance of challenging personal adversity for building resilience and fostering a sense of accomplishment. Students will participate in a cycling tour along the banks of the Danube River in Upper Austria, visiting picturesque hamlets, imposing castles, and verdant forests. The famous classical music composer and Viennese resident Ludwig van Beethoven will be studied as an example of using personal challenges to create value and beauty in the lives of oneself and others. The study tour will include visits through the Wachau Valley to Passau, Linz, and Melk, as well as Salzburg and Vienna.
