Denmark: Mermaids to Lego - Denmark Through a Child's Eyes

This course is designed to explore and understand the world through a child’s eyes. This international study abroad course to Denmark will provide students with an understanding of the country’s unique contribution to child development. Through this course, the students will have the opportunity to visit an outdoor education classroom in Odense where children will have the opportunity to conduct their experiments in and with nature. They will also have an opportunity to explore the impact of the timeless children’s toy Lego in Billund and the notable Hans Christian Andersen fairytales such as ‘The Little Mermaid’ on the development of children. The focus on the child, through the understanding of Denmark, its people, education, society and culture is sure to expose students to an interesting perspective on childhood development.
