Malaysia: Flora and Fauna - An Environmental Journey Through Malaysia

This study abroad course features a tour of Malaysia, a tropical country in South East Asia that offers a diverse geographical environment. With its vast flora and fauna, including lush rainforests and tropical beaches, Malaysia confronts challenges on various fronts in maintaining its environmental and cultural heritage. This course will allow students to vividly experience how public policies affect the environment. There will be tours of Taman Negara, Malaysia’s largest national park, along with Borneo, where many species have become endangered and indigenous communities have been displaced. Students will also travel to the Orangutan sanctuary in Sarawak and visit the Iban community.
