Singapore: The Future of The Future

With its unusual mix of political paternalism and economic libertarianism, Singapore is one of the most fascinating places on earth. Over the past half-century, Singapore has roared into the modern world, with an emphasis on efficient bureaucracy and good governance, social order and tolerance, as well as free markets. This tiny city-state at the southern end of the Malaysian peninsula is also exceptionally diverse, religiously and ethnically. On this study tour, we will explore, among other things, Singapore’s unique culture and religious vitality. Additionally, we will visit the famous shopping complex on Orchard Road and the legendary food-hawker zones. We will also take a trip to Angkor Wat, the enormous Buddhist temple-complex in Cambodia.
