Jaskaran talking on phone

Meet Jaskaran P., CPA

Graduated 2018

“In Auditing II I learned how to write auditing cases at the CPA level, which prepared me for the CFE before I even knew it!”

Where is Jaskaran now?

Jaskaran is a Senior Staff Accountant at Prasad & Company LLP. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

“I remember the Entrepreneurial Studies course, where I along with some classmates, as a group were required to create a small business plan and put it into execution. This not only taught us how business plans are prepared, but also the importance of attention to detail in the plan. Being required to put our own plan into action also showed us the skills required and challenge in starting a new venture or dealing with potential clients, which when I look back on, I am doing regularly.”

@GH experience

Extracurriculars
Jaskaran took on the role of VP of Operations at the Guelph-Humber Accounting Council   and was also on the CPA Board of Ambassadors.

As a member of the UofGH Business case competition team, he was proud to place 2nd in the Degrootes Fast Pace to the Case accounting competition!

You may also spot Jaskaran in past publications as he was a model for a few UofGH photoshoots. We recruit real students to be our models for our publications and marketing images.

“An example of the UofGH close-knit community that I experienced was when my First Year Experience mentor (I had in my first year) became my CPA and professional mentor after GH. Due to the close-knit relationships that are built at GH it allows for these opportunities not only during the time at GH but afterwards as well.”

“What I liked most about UofGH was the smaller size of the university, because it allowed me to build better connections with fellow students, professors and university staff. The smaller class sizes meant I saw familiar faces more often and it was less intimidating to ask professors questions in class which overall helped me learn.”
