10:30 a.m. Check-in

Welcome to your new home! Make sure to learn about all the great services available to you as a student, ring the GH Bell, grab a bite to eat or just hang out until the official sessions begin.

11:00 a.m. Concurrent Session

Your First Year Experience Leaders will guide you through four separate sessions to put you in the best spot to succeed as you enter your first year at U of GH. These include:

Program 101

A chance to meet your Chair, Associate Head, Academic Advisor, and Career & Placement Services supports! They will share pro tips and support that will help you during your time at U of GH.

IGNITE Speed-Friending and Lunch

IGNITE, your student union, will host a speed-friending activity to help you connect with fellow students in your program. Lunch will be provided.

AI, Essays, and Ethics

With emerging tools and AI, it can be difficult to know what is and isn’t permitted. This session will clarify everything you need to know to ensure you're following the academic integrity guidelines at U of GH.

Feel free to explore campus at your own pace, relax and connect with others through casual games, or join a campus tour to see where you can access services introduced earlier in the day.

Join FYE Leaders and Learning Support Peers (LSPs) for this virtual event on Microsoft Teams from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Learn tips to set yourself up for success during the first few weeks of classes from students who have been in your shoes! Join by using this link!

7:00 p.m. Virtual Icebreakers

Looking for a chance to connect with more incoming students before your first class? This is the event for you! Join us for a series of fun virtual icebreakers hosted by The Go Game! (Spots are limited. Be sure to indicate your interest when registering for orientation. You'll be asked to confirm your attendance one week before the event.)

First Year Experience (FYE) Leaders


Become an active member of the U of GH community and discover how your campus engagement can shape your future. Getting involved in the many co-curricular opportunities we offer will contribute to your personal growth and experience as a U of GH student. You can also add these to your Co-Curricular Record (CCR) which is a useful addition to your resume for future jobs, internships, and placements.
