Vice-Provost International Student Entrance Scholarship

Amount: Up to $16,000 ($4,000/year for 4 years) for each recipient

International students entering post-secondary studies for the first time and registering in the first semester of a degree program.

Conditions of Entrance Scholarship

  • Recipients must register full-time for both the first and second semesters in year 1.
  • Recipients must pay the International student tuition and fees.
  • Recipients must be entering the first year of post-secondary studies (for the first time).
  • Recipients must have a minimum 70% admissions average. 

Students' Responsibilities

  • Submit an application for admission.
  • Ensure that my admission application is complete and all documents are received as requested by Admission Services, University of Guelph-Humber.

University's Responsibilities

  • Consider your application for admission and your scholarship eligibility when the required curriculum-specific supporting documentation, as stated on the International Students webpage, is received. Successful recipients will be informed of their scholarship with their offer of admission.
  • Apply the scholarship to your University of Guelph-Humber student account in two equal payments over the respective fall and winter semesters.

Conditions for Renewal

  • Recipients must remain registered in a full-time course load and achieve a minimum 80.0% average in their previous academic year of full-time study based on their starting term
    • Fall Semester Start: Previous Year’s Fall and Winter Terms
    • Winter Semester Start: Previous Year’s Winter Term and Current Year’s Fall Term
  • Recipients must continue to pay the International student tuition and fees.
  • This scholarship is eligible for renewal for three calendar years from the term of admission only.
  • Students who do not qualify for renewable payments in one year will not be considered for future years.

Receiving your Scholarship

You must be registered in a full-time course load. We will automatically credit your scholarship to your University account. The scholarship amount will be divided into two equal payments: 

  • Fall Semester Start: Current Year’s Fall and Winter Terms
  • Winter Semester Start: Current Year’s Winter Term and Following Year’s Fall Term

No scholarship renewals will be issued for the summer semester.

NOTE: Entrance scholarships cannot be deferred. Students who defer their offer of admission are reconsidered the following year based on the availability of scholarship for that cohort.
