Graduation

Convocation ceremonies at the University of Guelph-Humber are held in June. This is when degrees and diplomas are conferred to students who successfully complete programs as prescribed by the university. It’s a wonderful time of celebration for students and their family and friends.

Parchments

Our convocation planning team is currently working on preparing both your degree and diploma and hope to start mailing these out in bundles of a few hundred in early August. You will also be receiving a surprise package to go along with your parchments! We cannot wait for you to receive them. This means your parchments will be delivered over a period of weeks, with some grads receiving it sooner than others. You will be notified via email when your parchments have been shipped.

We hoped to get these to you sooner and apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused. The priority of our courier continues to be PPE and medical supplies to hospitals and medical staff, in addition to the challenges of reduced labour to meet physical distancing protocols during these unprecedented times.

In the interim, we are able to provide you a letter confirming your graduation status if you require one. You can request this letter using the Confirmation of Enrollment form and selecting the following options:

  • When asked “Action Required”, choose “Letter confirming you have met the requirements of your degree”
  • When asked “Purpose of Request”, choose “Graduation Letter”

Convocation 2020

As you are aware, the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic required us to postpone spring convocation until the fall. At this time, it is our intention to hold in-person convocation ceremonies on Saturday, October 31, 2020.

The unpredictability of the COVID-19 situation may necessitate further postponing convocation ceremonies to a future date. The University of Guelph-Humber will continue to follow the direction of the Ontario Government and local Public Health officials to ensure we are complying with all protocols. More information will be emailed to graduates closer to the fall convocation date.

Although we have decided to postpone convocation until the fall, we are looking at ways to celebrate your milestone achievement in the interim. Students who have met graduation requirements will still graduate in June and will receive degree and diploma parchments in the mail.
