The space will be open to students and instructors of all programs
Introducing the University of Guelph Humber (U of GH) Scholar’s Hub, a new space on campus designed to foster and expand meaningful learning opportunities and collaboration that strengthens scholarly activity across all programs.
With a growing scope of innovative undergraduate research at U of GH, the Scholar’s Hub is a community space to support experiential learning, instructor-student collaboration, teamwork in research, and mentorship.
“The new Scholar’s Hub is meaningful for students and instructors because it provides a dedicated physical space to exchange ideas, build purposeful mentorship relationships, and explore opportunities for collaboration across disciplines. It fosters a vibrant scholarly community where students and instructors work together to create knowledge and drive innovation,” Psychology Chair Dr. Alice Kim said. “As our scholarly activities continue to grow, this space will spark new connections and ideas, opening doors to opportunities that might not otherwise emerge.”
The Scholar’s Hub serves as a dedicated area for meetings, data analysis, presentation practice, and discussion, with an abundance of seating, a private meeting room, and a room that will house an Anatomage Table for Kinesiology students (technology resembling a massive tablet that simulates human anatomy and cadaver dissection).
Moreover, the Scholar’s Hub will also be a space to celebrate students’ achievements and work, with display spaces for research posters and projects. This can also serve as inspiration about the opportunities that exist at the University for research and scholarly activities, ranging from thesis projects to research assistantships, and more.
"As the leader of a program involving plenty of opportunities for research, it's exciting to have a dedicated space to cultivate research skills and celebrate the scholarly activities happening across U of GH," Kinesiology Chair Dr. Leslie Auger said. "The Scholar's Hub will serve as a welcoming space for bringing ideas to life."
Students and instructors can access the Scholar’s Hub in GH304.
