It was a touchdown for school spirit when University of Guelph-Humber (U of GH) students boarded a bus together to head from our Toronto campus to Guelph, Ont., to cheer on the University of Guelph (U of G) Gryphons in a football game against the York University Lions.
The game, held on Oct. 18, was exciting, with the Gryphons winning 34-27.
“Attending the Guelph Gryphons game was such a fun, refreshing break from midterms, and it was my first time watching a football game live. From riding the coach bus to the crowd's incredible energy, it was amazing to witness and be a part of that school spirit,” fourth-year Kinesiology student Teresa Yeboah said, who went to the game with U of GH. She added that she hopes U of GH students could have a similar experience again because she enjoyed it so much.
Guelph-Humber students also received a game-day food truck voucher and rally towel to show off their spirit.
The trip served as a chance for students to make lifelong memories, and as an opportunity to connect U of GH students with the U of G sports community. After all, Guelph-Humber students have the option to compete in sports against other universities or colleges by trying out for the Humber Hawks or the Guelph Gryphons through our partnership with Humber Polytechnic and the University of Guelph.
