TORONTO, Ontario, 09/23/2026 – The University of Guelph-Humber (U of GH) is unveiling a new program: Business & Liberal Studies.
This unique program combines core courses from the Business Administration program, including finance, accounting, marketing, statistics, ethics, and more, with the cultural analysis, ethical communication, and systems thinking of Liberal Studies electives, building the perspective and adaptability professional organizations increasingly need.
Business & Liberal Studies differs from the Business Administration program at U of GH because it opens different doors. This program emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving from different perspectives, communication, and more. The Liberal Studies side runs through three clusters: Cultures, Identities, and Expressions; Global Society and Leadership; and Futures, Technologies, and Sustainability. Every student takes at least one course from each, along with 12.50 credits of Business Administration courses – though at its core, business is at the forefront.
Prospective students can begin applying this fall for the program’s official launch in the 2027-2028 academic year.
Students will also gain built-in work experience during this four-year program, including 100 hours of placement, as well as research opportunities. The cornerstone of real-world experience will prepare students to be career ready as they graduate from Business & Liberal Studies with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Guelph and a diploma in General Arts & Science from Humber Polytechnic.
Dr. Vasilis (Bill) Molos is serving as the new program’s chair, in addition to being the Liberal Studies chair.
