Rachel Rochetti
"My internship with Hamilton Sports Group (Hamilton Tiger-Cats & Forge FC) was a valuable opportunity that allowed me to take the skills I’ve developed in the classroom and put them into practice in a professional setting. Working as a Social Media Intern gave me firsthand experience in the sports industry, helping me grow personally and professionally while building the skills and confidence I will carry into my career."
Tamia McPherson
"I came into this program with a love for media, but with no clear idea of where I wanted to take it or what I wanted to do. Guelph-Humber helped me find that direction. This program prepared me for pivotal opportunities outside the classroom that I never expected. From having my photography featured in a collaborative mural at a leading arts centre to working on real production sets, things that once felt out of reach were suddenly right in front of me."
Nicole Cislo
"Being a Media and Communication Studies student at the University of Guelph-Humber has opened so many opportunities. I worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Giovanni Capriotti, on a project in which he investigated life in the Swat Valley of Pakistan. Not only did this open my eyes to global events, but it also taught me to strengthen the information behind the photos."
Marco Riondino
"Being the VP of our student media society has allowed me to take on a leadership role and express my creativity beyond the classroom."
Media & Communication Studies graduates are driving national and international conversations, from global agencies to multinational corporations to local change-makers.

“What I loved most about the program was that it challenged me to think beyond the fundamentals. It was an opportunity to strengthen my storytelling capabilities, explore out-of-the-box concepts, and take ownership of my work from concept to execution. These are skills I continue to use in my career today, and ones that I know are highly valued in the industry.”
Brintha Manoharan
Assistant Manager, Canadian Banking Communications, Scotiabank
“The Media and Communication Studies program offered such a hands-on learning experience, with the opportunity to learn from mentors who were actively working in the field. Their real-world experiences brought every course to life and gave students valuable insight into what to expect beyond the classroom.”
Connor Conroy
Senior Marketing Manager, Go-to-Market & Product Strategy, Bell Canada
"...GH had such unique classes that touched every facet of the industry, but what made it truly special was the close-knit community. Because the classes were small, you really connected with your peers and professors."
Danica Samuel
Founder and Editor in Chief, Vainqueur Magazine
"The program was instrumental in shaping me into a multifaceted journalist. Its multidisciplinary approach taught me to report, edit and tell stories across audio, video, graphic design and print – all the skills that ultimately equipped me to build my own platform and approach journalism with greater versatility."
Michael Brown
Owner & Managing Director, Msngr Creative
“The professors I had at Guelph-Humber really set me up for success. Even years later I am still in contact with several of them on a regular basis. The connections I made via the school were instrumental in not only starting my career, but in later starting my own business where we now serve clients across the entire country.”
Emily Edwards
Student Advocate
"My time in the Media and Communication Studies program gave me hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge that have proven to be useful in so many areas of my life. One of my favourite memories was the opportunity to use everything that I learned in the 2026 Emerge Conference!"
