Vice Provost Entrance Scholarship

$20,000 ($5,000 X 4) funding per recipient

The Vice Provost Entrance Scholarship recognizes the student with the highest final admissions average for their respective cohort.  There are 7 awards available each year, one per full-time program.  Each recipient receives $5,000 per academic year over four years of full-time study, for a total of $20,000. 

 

Eligibility

To be considered for this scholarship:

  • Applicants will automatically be considered for the scholarship based on their final Admissions average based on their top 6 4U/M level courses (or recognized equivalent) inclusive of the program specific subject requirements
  • Applicant must be entering post-secondary studies for the first time as a full-time student.
  • Applicant must be entering any degree program offered by the University of Guelph-Humber.
  • Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Awarded to one student with the highest final admission average for their respective program

This award cannot be held with the Founders’ Academic Merit Scholarship, the Renewable Entrance Scholarship, the University of Guelph’s President’s and Chancellors’ Scholarships or the University of Guelph’s Board of Governors’ Scholarships.

Renewability:

  • If you have been awarded a Vice Provost Entrance Scholarship, we will automatically consider you for each renewal year.
  • We will base your renewal on you achieving a minimum 80% cumulative average in the previous academic year of full-time study.
  • You must maintain a full-time course load in both the Fall and Winter semesters before the year of renewal.
    • Note: courses completed on a Letter of Permission do not count towards a full-time course load.
  • If you do not receive renewal one year, you are still eligible in subsequent years if your cumulative average of the fall and winter semesters rises to a minimum 80%.
  • This scholarship is eligible for renewal for three calendar years from the term of admission only.

Receiving your scholarship

You must be registered in a full-time course load. We will automatically credit your scholarship to your University account. The scholarship amount will be divided into two equal payments: one at the beginning of the fall semester and the other at the beginning of the winter semester. No scholarship renewals will be issued for the summer semester.
