Patricia Tuff

Patricia is a Child and Youth Care Practitioner and Social Worker. Her background combines clinical practice with post-secondary instruction, offering a unique and comprehensive perspective that bridges theory and practice. This integration has deepened her commitment to inclusive, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, de-colonial and relationally based pedagogies. She is dedicated to continuous professional development and lifelong learning and actively strives to create inclusive and safe learning environments that recognize and respond to the diversity of students, their experiences, learning styles, abilities and communities.

Patricia aims to build upon the core social work competencies, applying theory to practice, fostering effective communication, modeling professionalism, nurturing relationships and understanding systemic influences. She guides students in exploring their professional responsibilities, developing self-awareness, engaging in reflective supervision, navigating conflict and critically examining ethical and practice-based issues. Patricia focuses on supporting learners in the cultivation of insight, confidence and competence in their professional roles. Consistent with the foundational principles of social work practice, she works to model and embed equity, diversity and inclusion throughout her teaching in alignment with both social work and broader social service sector standards responding to community needs.
