International certifications include:

Advanced Placement (AP)

If you have completed Advanced Placement Final Examinations with a minimum grade of 4, you will be eligible to receive university specific transfer credits, where applicable, to a maximum of 2.00 credits. 

Please arrange for an official score report to be sent directly to Admission Services. Transfer credit will be assigned once this has been received in Admission Services.

American Curriculum

You will be considered based on an unweighted cumulative GPA from a regionally accredited high school. To be considered competitive, you must have a minimum 2.7 GPA and meet the subject requirements. Advanced Placement (AP) courses will be considered, and successful completion of AP courses with exam results of 4 or more may qualify applicants for university transfer credit.

The University of Guelph-Humber is a test optional institution, SAT or ACT scores will be considered when it is to an applicant’s benefit. All transcripts can be sent to international@guelphhumber.ca.

British Patterned Education (GCE)

General Certificate of Education Requirements (GCE):

  • Minimum of two Advanced Level passes and three GCSE or IGCSE (Ordinary Level) passes.
  • Two Advanced Supplementary subsidiary (AS) Level courses may be substituted for one Advanced Level course.

You are expected to present a minimum 'B/C' or 6 grade on GCSE/IGCSE, AS and predicted Advanced Level examinations with a minimum of five unique subject areas. While consideration will be given to subject prerequisites at the GCSE/IGCSE Level, you are encouraged to present requirements at the AS or Advanced Level. Please note that general paper is not considered an acceptable subject.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

If you are applying with an IB Diploma from outside Canada, you should present a minimum score of 24. Reported bonus points will be taken into consideration.

Having the minimum score does not guarantee admission.

You should complete the IB Diploma with six subjects: three Higher Level and three Standard Level. You should also include specific subject requirements for the program you are applying to among your Standard and Higher Level courses. Any Higher or Standard Level mathematics course is an acceptable prerequisite for programs that require math.

If you are currently completing your IB Diploma, you will be considered for admission based upon predicted IB scores.

Upon receipt of official final results from IB, we will assign specific transfer credits, where applicable, to a maximum of 2.0 credits for grades of 5 or better on Higher Level courses where you have been awarded the IB Diploma or DP Course.

French Baccalaureate same page

Students applying with a French Baccalaureate should present a minimum overall score of 12 out of 20. Specific subject prerequisites should be completed at the highest co-efficient level.

Having the minimum score does not guarantee admission.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

  • Class 12 Boards Exam Certificate is required and predicted scores will be used as available with a minimum average of 70%
  • Early admission decisions can be made based on verified 10th Standard Board results accompanied by predicted Class 12 grades listed by subject from the school
  • If applying to Business or Kinesiology and you do not have 12th Standard Math, conditional offers can be made based on enrolment in one of the following math courses: MDM4U, MHF4U or MCV4U at www.ilc.org  

If you are applying to the University of Guelph-Humber from another country, in most cases, you'll need to meet admission requirements similar to those necessary to register in an accredited university in your locale.

Botswana

Brazil

Brazil Certificado de Conclusao de Ensino Medio (minimum 7.5) + Vestibular (University Entrance Exam) or ENEM (Middle Education National Examination) or SAT I and SATII subject tests.

Bulgaria

Diploma Za Zavarsheno Sredno Obrazovanie (School Leaving Diploma) with grades of 5 or better.

Burkina Faso

Caribbean

Students must complete the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Diploma with a minimum of 6 individual subjects with at least two 2-Unit courses at the CAPE Level. Other subjects may be presented at the CSEC (CXC) Level. Predicted CAPE Level grades of 1-3 are required for admission consideration. Students going into Business or Kinesiology are encouraged to take a minimum of two 2-Unit CAPE Level subjects inclusive of mathematics.

Transfer credit may be granted for 2-Unit courses at the Advanced Level with grades of 1, 2, or 3. Please note that Caribbean Studies and Communications Studies cannot be used for admission.

China

1. Students progressing through Upper Middle School: the Academic Proficiency Test (APT)/HuiKao from CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service with a minimum of 5 relevant required subjects for the degree and major, along with school documents for grades 10, 11, and first semester Grade 12 are required. Final official Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate will be required in August from the CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service.

2. Students who finished high school in a previous year are required to submit the Upper Middle School Graduation Certificate and the Chinese National University Entrance Examinations (NCEE) including a minimum of 5 relevant required subjects. All documents and English translations must be sent directly to Admission Services through CHESICC-Parchment Portal Service. In the absence of NCEE, SAT I and SAT II subject tests including all required subjects specific to your degree and major may be submitted for admission consideration.

Colombia

Excellent Bachillerato results (9/10). Bachillerato en Ciencias academically focused on sciences and humanities.

Costa Rica

Bachillerato along with successful completion of first year at an accredited institution of higher learning is typically required.

Ecuador

Bachillerato with excellent results. (See also American Patterned Education and International Baccalaureate.)

Egypt

Thanaweya Amma - General Secondary Education Certificate or IB, American Patterned or French Baccalaureate with excellent results.

El Salvador

Bachiller Academico with a minimum approximately 8 out of 10.

Ethiopia

Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination. Minimum for consideration begins at 78-80%.

European Baccalaureate

Completed European Baccalaureate Diploma including prerequisite required exam with a minimum overall average of 75-80%. English must be a minimum of L1 or L2. Students with English as L2 are expected to write an English Proficiency exam.

France

Baccalaureat/Baccalaureat General/ Diplome de Bachelier de l'Enseignement du Second Degre/Option Internationale du Baccalaureat with good results overall and in required subjects.

Germany

Reifezeugnis / Abitur / Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife.

Ghana

West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exam results, with a minimum B3 on predicted grades and a scratch card for confirmation required for finals.

Greece

Apolytirio Eniaiou Lykeiou, with a minimum of 16.1.

Guatemala

First year completed at a recognized university.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) with a combination of 4 and 5. Predicted school marks must be presented on a 5 point scale.

India

Completion of a Class 12 State Board Certificate in the required academic stream. For example:

  • (National) Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) OR Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • (State) Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) OR Punjab School Education Board (PSEB)

For admission consideration, students may submit verified 10th Standard Board results accompanied by anticipated Class 12 grades listed by subject from the school with a minimum average of 70% to be considered.

If applying to Business or Kinesiology and you do not have senior level math, conditional offers can be made based on enrolment in one of the following math courses: MDM4U, MHF4U or MCV4U at www.ilc.org with a minimum 70%.

Students applying to the Business (BBA) program may be considered for admission with a minimum B1 score in their 10 math. 

Final Indian curriculum graduating documents must be submitted to Admission Services from the corresponding board. When possible, Admission Services will verify scanned finals. Please have documents emailed to international@guephhumber.ca.

Middle East

Applicants from Bahrain, Jordan, Palestine, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen must present the National Secondary School Education/Leaving Certificate (Tawjihiyah) with very good/excellent results overall and in appropriate subjects.

Students from Kuwait should present the Shahad-al-thanawia-al-a-a'ama (General Secondary School Certificate) with excellent results and those from UAE, the Secondary School Certificate (Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-Amma). See UAE for more details. Documents must be official and come from the school, Ministry or the appropriate Cultural Bureau.

New Zealand

Minimum Admission Requirements: National Certificate of Educational Achievement Level 3 and University Entrance Standard inclusive of approved subjects. Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the New Zealand grading scale, the minimum level for admission consideration is “Merit.”

Philippines

High School Diploma. Candidates must graduate from a 12 year high school education system. Students graduating from the former 11 year system are required to submit one year of post-secondary studies.

Poland

Świadectwo Dojrzałości Liceum Ogólnokształcącego with a minimum average of approximately 4.5 out of 6 to start admission consideration.

Portugal

Certificado de fim de Estudos Secundários within the good (bom) category with scores of 16-15/20.

Russia

Attestat o Srednam (Polnom) Obshchem Obrazovani - Certificate of (Completed) Secondary Education with good grades.

Singapore

Singapore/Cambridge GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations (see GCE requirements).

South Africa

National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum high Meritorious to Outstanding for admission consideration.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan Certificate of Education including Ordinary Levels and at least 3 Advanced Level subjects with a minimum B average.

Sweden

Fullstandigt Slutbetyg from Gymnasieskolan.

Switzerland

Federal School Leaving Certificate – Maturité/Maturität/Maturità with a minimum 5/6 or 8/10.

Taiwan

Senior High School Certificate of Graduation + Joint College Entrance Exam.

Tanzania

Certificate of Secondary Education and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education.

Thailand

First-year standing in a recognized university is normally required, however, applicants holding the Mattayom 6 with superior academic standing (3.0 to 4.0 in all required core courses) may be considered.

Lise Diploması with very good/ excellent results. Submission of a school profile is expected.

UAE

Uganda
