Alpha Phi Sigma

Alpha Phi Sigma is an international honours society that was established in 1942. The organization helps students prepare for careers in policing and the law by encouraging academic achievement, boosting leadership skills, and promoting a strong interest in social justice. Once a member, you are a member for life.

Events & Activities

Alpha Phi Sigma regularly hosts events like Coffee with a Cop, a networking opportunity with different police department in the GTA, and the Wrongful Conviction event that allows students to hear from guest speakers. Check back closer to Fall to see what’s in store for this Fall!

Past executive team members have ventured into a number of roles in the justice field including pursuing law school, work as police officers, and so much more!

If you're interested in being an executive member, monitor the Student Life eNews and GHworks in January and September of each year for open positions.

Membership Requirements 

Chapter Member

  • Must be a paid member of Alpha Phi Sigma
  • Must complete 15 hours of engagement with the society during the academic year (September to April)
  • Already a member? Make sure to add your experience to your Co-Curricular Record (CCR). This is a great addition to your resume to show the skills you have gained through your involvement.

Rookie Member

  • Unofficial volunteer position for students.
  • Mandatory requirement to becoming a Chapter Member
