Student Services

All the services offered to University of Guelph-Humber students are shared services from either the University of Guelph-Humber or Humber.

Accessible Learning Services

Specialized services are available to assist students with disabilities. Students who require services to accommodate a learning, physical, sensory or psychological disability are urged to contact Accessible Learning Services when they submit their application. Early self-identification will help us provide the best possible services, including registration assistance, support services, academic accommodations, liaison services and more.

Accounting Centre

Black Student Support and Engagement

BSSE seeks to provide students who identify as Black Canadian, Black African, and Black Caribbean with community, resources, and support to help them fully maximize their campus experience.

Borrowing Equipment

Media Studies students use the University of Guelph-Humber's Media Cage to borrow audio/visual equipment such as data projectors, digital cameras, digital camcorders, laptops and multimedia carts.

All other University of Guelph-Humber students may borrow equipment from Humber College’s IT Services.

Child Care on Campus

The Child Care Centre is designed to accommodate the child care needs of University of Guelph-Humber students, staff and community members on a full-time basis. Child care is provided by professional graduates of an Early Childhood Education program. Apply early as the centre usually has a waiting list.

H.E.A.R.T. vehicle assistance program

The Humber Emergency Auto Response Team (H.E.A.R.T.) is a free service of the Department of Public Safety. H.E.A.R.T. assists students, staff, faculty and visitors experiencing vehicle problems while at the University of Guelph-Humber. They are not trained mechanics, but will do their best to help you get on your way.

Indigenous Education & Engagement

Humber College’s Indigenous Education & Engagement offers a wide range of services to support Indigenous students, including academic, personal, cultural and career support. They also plan a variety of educational, cultural and fun activities for all of our new and returning students.

International Student Services

The International Student Services Office is available to help international students make a smooth transition to university life in Canada. They can assist you with non-academic matters such as purchasing medical insurance, finding housing or linking you with a senior student. They also facilitate a intercultural office and the International Students' Association.

LGBTQ+ Resource Centre

The LGBTQ+ Resource Centre works to promote safer, braver, positive spaces for queer students. Connect through events, discussions, book clubs, and more. The Centre also offers several resources, both in-person and virtually.

Peer tutoring

Peer tutoring offers one-on-one assistance for students having difficulties in specific courses.

Safety and Security

The welfare and safety of students is of paramount importance. Security staff patrol the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, the Humber Campus Watch Program provides a safety escort program, strategically located emergency telephones and comprehensive information on personal safety and awareness.

Writing Centre and Math Centre

The Writing Centre provides support with essay writing and thesis development.

The Math Centre offers assistance with calculus and statistics and for those students who wish to improve their math skills.
