Tuition, Fees & Funding (Scholarships, OSAP, RESP)

University is an investment in your student’s future. Knowing the costs can help them plan ahead and meet their goals.

  • Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries: For a student population of 4,500, we allocate up to $5.6 million annually for funding for incoming students as well as current students.
  • Renewable Entrance Scholarship:  U of GH has one of the highest-value Renewable Entrance Scholarships in the province for students entering directly from high school. This award is automatically given to eligible students – no need to complete a scholarship application.

Student Support Services

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment. Your student can take advantage of all services to support their growth and enjoyment of their time with U of GH, be it related to physical, medical or mental health, personal matters, academic assistance or finding a place to belong. 

Academic

  • Academic Advisors: Each program has an Academic Advisor to assist your student with developing an education plan, building vital learning skills, and resolving academic issues.
  • Field Placement Coordinators: Your student will have support every step of the way through the field placement process, from figuring out their placement goals to completing their hours.
  • Career Services Coordinators: Personalized support to help your student with developing their networking skills, researching and preparing graduate school applications, and defining their career goals.
  • Chairs & Associate Heads: Each program has a Chair and Associate Head to guide your student through their studies and address any concerns.
  • Accessible Learning Services: Through Humber Polytechnic, your student has access to a range of support including academic accommodations and assistive technology training.

Diversity & Equity

  • LGBTQ+ Resource Centre: The centre works to promote safer, braver, positive spaces on campus for folks to connect with one another, access resources, and build community.
  • Black Student Support & Engagement: The program provides students who identify as Black, African, and Caribbean with community, resources and support to help them fully maximize on their campus experience.
  • Indigenous Education & Engagement: The centre works to build a sense of community by connecting people through Indigenous perspectives.
  • Spirituality & Wellness Centre: A safe, respectful, and inclusive space where students can explore different cultures, religions, and spiritualities.
  • Global Pre-Arrival Support (GPS): If you are an international student, the University of Guelph’s GPS Advisor will be your main point of contact from the moment you receive an offer of admission until your first semester starts.

Health & Well-Being

  • Counselling Services: Through our collaboration with Humber Polytechnic, U of GH students have access to free, private and confidential counselling services led by professional clinicians.
  • Health Services: By showing their student card and provincial health card, U of GH students have access to a wide range of health services, including immunizations.
  • Campus Dental: Through our collaboration with Humber Polytechnic, U of GH students have access to a full-service dental hygiene clinic with an onsite dentist.
  • Athletic Centre: Students can use the gym and take fitness classes for free, as well as access discounted personal training sessions.
  • ArboretumThe 100 hectare (250 acre) Humber Arboretum serves as a public garden, conservation area, and educational centre.

Campus Safety

The University of Guelph-Humber offers one of the safest campus environments you will find. 

We take extreme pride in doing what we can in providing an ideal environment for students to study, live, work and play including providing Campus Security services 24/7.

Living on Campus (Residence)

If your student is considering on-campus housing, residence is just a two-minute walk from the U of GH building. 

All students regardless of home address will be considered equally for residence rooms, while availability lasts. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline to apply is June 1, 2026.

Humber Polytechnic is responsible for residence facilities at U of GH. For rates and more information, visit Humber Residences' webpages

Important Dates

Semesters

  • Fall semester typically starts the first Wednesday after Labour Day and runs through late December.
  • Winter semester starts in early January and ends in April.
  • Summer semester starts in May and ends in August.

Deadlines

  • Deadline to apply to U of GH (first-time postsecondary applicants): January 15, 2026
  • Founders' Academic Merit Scholarship application deadline: January 25, 2026
  • Student Profile/SIF-D deadline: April 1, 2026
  • Deadline to apply for entrance bursaries: April 15, 2026
  • Deadline for Ontario universities to respond to applicants: May 28, 2026
  • Deadline to accept an offer of admission:  June 1, 2026
  • Fall residence deadline: June 1, 2026
  • Tuition deposit deadline: June 15, 2026
  • OSAP deadline: Recommended that students submit their application and all supporting documents by mid-July to receive funding for Fall 2026.
  • Local First Nations Award application deadline: August 1, 2026
