Dear friends and colleagues of SERC-GC,

You're invited! The Soka Education Research Centre on Global Citizenship (SERC-GC) at the University of Guelph-Humber in Toronto, Canada is excited to host our 8th annual special lecture. The special lecture is an exciting tradition where we have the opportunity to hear from scholars and practitioners in the fields of Soka education and global citizenship.

This year we are honoured to welcome Dr. Hans Schattle, Professor of Political Science at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. His interests range from citizenship, democracy and globalization to the politics of Europe, East Asia and the United States. Professor Schattle has written two books, Globalization and Citizenship and The Practices of Global Citizenship, as well as numerous articles in academic journals. He earned his doctorate in politics at Oxford and most recently he has co-edited the volume Making Social Democrats: Citizens, Mindsets, Realities, published by Manchester University Press. Professor Schattle presents research papers regularly at leading international academic conferences and often gives interviews to journalists around the world. He worked as a news reporter in his native New England before launching his academic career.

The special lecture will be hosted online only. Link will be sent upon registration
