Science Rendezvous Volunteerism

Governor General’s Academic Medal
Recognized for his academic excellence, U of GH Kinesiology graduate Anthony Moncada is a recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal, a prestigious award from the Canadian government to undergraduate students graduating with the highest cumulative average across all degrees.
Michael Nightingale Community Enrichment Award
Recognized for her significant contributions to the U of GH community and towards enriching the student experience, Kinesiology graduate Beatrice Abiog is the recipient of the Michael Nightingale Community Enrichment Award.
Science Rendezvous Community Champion Award
The award is a national recognition of university teams who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to engaging and inspiring their local community by creating fun, accessible and inclusive opportunities for the public to get their hands on science at their local Science Rendezvous events.
Muscle Health Research Centre's Award for Excellence in Physiology
Recognized for research that pushes the boundaries of basic physiological science or advances the translation of physiological research findings into practice, U of GH Kinesiology graduate David Castro received the Muscle Health Research Centre's Award for Excellence in Physiology.
Women of Distinction
Ashnaa Narumatha received the U of GH Women of Distinction award in 2025. Nominated by fellow students, academic leaders, and staff from U of GH for the ways she inspired others through extracurricular activities and educated students about artificial intelligence with the AI Hub.
Humber Hawks Win Championship
U of GH Kinesiology students Cassy, Emily, Kaitlynn, Kiara, and Vanessa were integral members of the 2025 OCAA Women’s Indoor Soccer Championship Team.
