Virtual Book Launch Series with Danny Pincivero

Date:
Thursday, March 18, 2021 - 11:00am to 11:30am

Academic Services invites you to attend the Winter 2021 Book Launch Series event, featuring Dr. Danny Pincivero, Kinesiology instructor at the University of Guelph-Humber.

Join Dr. Pincivero as he provides a review and reading of his book entitled, “A New Day Starts Tomorrow.” The plot of this coming of age memoir-like story, hinges on the insecurities of an emerging adolescent boy on the verge of entering a new world called high school. Wanting to shed his old elementary school skin scarred by years of being bullied, actively discouraged in his interests and embarrassed, our main character quickly discovers that submerging into a large pond meant that more opportunities would become available allowing him to harness his limited life skill set. Through his exposure to academics, sports, and love-at-first-sight challenges, our character develops critical life management skills that would guide him through this critical five-year adolescent journey towards unconventional successes. Though he doesn't get the girl; he doesn't become the captain of a winning football team, or get crowned prom king, his success occurs through his development of resiliency fueled by a series of numerous teenage failures.
