Ajay Sharma has been teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2019. He has been a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph since 2010.  Sharma has taught a broad range of courses in Canadian Law, Politics and Environmental Policy. His research focuses on environmental governance and law. More specifically, he focuses on why cities implement climate change policy. It is an important question because there is no tangible evidence their contributions lead to meaningful GHG reductions. So why do it? Sharma has spoken on this area at conferences in North America and provides advice to politicians and policymakers. His main passion outside of teaching is advocating for the Special Needs Community, specifically children aged 5-18. Sharma meets with politicians and bureaucrats and explain why the Government of Ontario needs to change its policies on education, rehabilitation and therapy for this vulnerable group of individuals and their families.
