Dr. Carol-Anne Hendry is a clinical psychologist who has been teaching with the University of Guelph-Humber since 2010. Dr. Hendry earned her Ph.D. degree in Psychology at the University of Guelph in 2012. She completed her doctoral internship training at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Child, Youth, and Family Program), where she provided support to children and youth presenting with gender identity concerns, addictions, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. She has also completed training at Hamilton Health Sciences, McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board, and Toronto Catholic District School Board.Dr. Hendry has clinical training and experience working with people ranging in age from six years old to 69 years old, who present with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, addictions, eating disorders, adjustment issues, interpersonal and relational difficulties, and chronic pain. Dr. Hendry has received training in a variety of treatment modalities, but works primarily from an interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) approach with emphasis on mindfulness, acceptance, and emotion focused therapy (EFT). She also provides giftedness screening assessments to children. In addition to teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber and providing clinical services in private practice, she also holds a position as Adjunct Faculty Supervisor at The Centre for Mental Health Research and Treatment, University of Waterloo, and Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct), Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University.
