Today's Parent talks to Expert about managing kids' negative emotions

UofGH instructor Lindsay Barton was interviewed for an article in Today's Parent, focusing on how kids' tantrums can sometimes be healthy. Barton, a registered psychotherapist who teaches in the Early Childhood Studies program, said people tend to fear angry feelings and want to eliminate them as soon as possible. She talked about the dangers of overconsoling children and offered tips to parents for handling their child's emotional ups and downs - as well as their own.
