Early Childhood Studies Program Head Dr. Nikki Martyn was interviewed by The Toronto Star in an article about school-age children returning to the classroom this Fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of health over a perfect attendance. Dr. Martyn highlights that this shift away perfect attendance might actually be a change for the better. She encourages kids to check-in and that by being more aware of their own health, it will teach them how to communicate their own best interests.
