The University of Guelph-Humber, located in north Toronto, is now proudly the Official Education Partner of Mississauga-based Raptors 905.

“When we began discussions with the Raptors 905 about a partnership, we knew it was a perfect fit,” says Dr. Melanie Spence-Ariemma, Vice-Provost and Chief Academic Officer, University of Guelph-Humber. 

The partnership will focus on building a strong footprint of awareness, access to university education and career development in the local community.

The University of Guelph-Humber, an academic and industry-focused university, and the Raptors 905 have an important commitment in common: to develop opportunities for growing talent, locally and beyond.

As we look to the future, the University, in partnership with the Raptors 905, has a unique opportunity to engage youth in Toronto, Peel and surrounding regions.

“As we look to evolve the partnership, we are also evaluating in what other ways we can leverage our shared commitment to education, leadership and supporting local youth in a meaningful way,” said Dr. Spence-Ariemma. 

Through the partnership, the University of Guelph-Humber and the Raptors 905 plan to connect their fanbase with educational opportunities on and off campus. Looking forward, University of Guelph-Humber intends to build on this partnership by aligning itself to community efforts through the Raptors 905 and their organization foundation to help provide equitable access to sport to youth facing barriers.
