Virtual Coffee Chat with Laurie de Fleuriot

Laurie de Fleuriot is a gradate of the Business program, class of 2010 and CFRE certified, working as a nonprofit consultant, entrepreneur, educator,and philanthropist. She works with charitable organizations to develop fundraising strategies that allow them ro expand their capacity and grow their capacity and grow their impact. Laurie has worked with organizations doing life-changing work in the areas of youth mentorship, veteran mental health support, food insecurity, economic development, higher education, child and family welfare and patient advocacy.

Join us on May 7  to chat with Laurie about her journey since graduating.

Networking Mentorship Event for students and alumni

On Thursday, January 19, we welcomed alumni back to the University of Guelph-Humber for an evening to connect with current students and re-connect with fellow alumni. We had an amazing evening filled with great conversation, making connections, playing games, winning prizes, enjoying food and beverages while getting our LinkedIn head shots! Thanks to our alumni and future alumni family who made this event so wonderful.

UofGH Alumni Trivia Night

On Tuesday, March 7, the Alumni Services department hosted trivia night at Jack Astor's Brampton. We enjoyed yummy apps and played two rounds of trivia. Our alumni and their guests took home most of the top prizes of the night! We were so happy to see our alumni and look forward to hosting more trivia nights in the future.

UofGH Alumni Career Webinar: Strengthen Your Interview Skills

On Wednesday, May 10 from 12pm-1pm, UofGH alumni joined us on Zoom and learned how to strengthen their interview skills. Career Services Coordinator, Elizabeth Hawley, hosted this one-hour session. 

One UofGH alum, who registered early and attended, won a $100 gift card towards a new interview outfit!

UofGH Alumni Career Webinar: Job Search Process

On Wednesday, July 18 from 12pm-1pm, UofGH alumni joined us on Zoom and learned more about the job search process. Career Services Coordinator, Marie Narsoo, hosted this one-hour session.

One UofGH alum, who registered early and attended, won a $100 Uber Eats gift card to help them stay nourished during their job search process.

Alumni Blue Jays game

On Wednesday, July 20 we went to the Alumni Blue Jays Game. We enjoyed a great game against the San Diego Padres, an open dome, amazing seats, prizes, refreshments and food. Lots of laughter was shared with fellow UofGH and U of G alumni. Did you miss the game this year? We’ll post details on this page and our socials when details for the 2024 game are announced in the spring. Until then, go Jays go!

 

UofGH Alumni at Canada’s Wonderland

On Thursday, August 24, 2023, Alumni Services welcomed UofGH Alumni to Canada’s Wonderland! We enjoyed discounted tickets, a yummy lunch, free parking and prizes.

 

Mentorship Networking Event for Students and Alumni

On Thursday, September 28 from 6-8pm, we welcomed members of our Alumni Family who graduated from Community Social Services, Early Childhood Studies, Justice Studies, Kinesiology and Psychology to participate in the Mentorship Networking Event for Students and Alumni. This event connected alumni with current students and re-connected them with fellow alumni. We enjoyed fun games, great prizes, dinner and refreshments!

Note, early in 2024 we look forward to hosting a Mentorship Networking Event for our Business and Media alumni and students! Stay tuned to future editions of our eNews and this webpage for updates.

Alumni Reunion 

On October 19, 2023, we welcomed alumni and guests at the Annual Reunion! We celebrated alumni from all graduating years and gave a special shout out to our alumni from the Classes of 2018 and 2013 who are celebrated 5 and 10 years since graduating.

We enjoyed music, food and beverages, great door prizes and giveaways, a caricaturist, 360 photo booth, special campus tours, an award presentation, tons of photos and many laughs! Special thanks to our amazing alumni for making this night so memorable!

You Did It! 2023 Convocation Photo Experience

On Thursday, December 7, 2023, we invited our fall 2023 graduates, and those who graduated in spring 2023 who did not attend Convocation, to the You Did It! 2023 Convocation Photo Experience. Graduates were able to celebrate their accomplishments with guests, ring the UofGH Bell and have their photo taken by Studio Nostalgia

GradFest 2024

On March 20 and 21, we celebrated the Class of 2024 at GradFest!. This event is presented by Alumni Services and supports students in their transition to becoming an alum.

Special thanks to our alumni for joining us ar the Raptors game on Tuesday! In addition our discounted tickets, we were invited to with the shotaround before the game. We love seeing our Raptors in action and creating memories with our Alumni Family!
