Dr. George Bragues is the Associate Vice-Provost, Academic at the University of Guelph-Humber, Canada. His writings have spanned the disciplines of business, economics, politics, and philosophy. Dr. Bragues has published op-ed pieces in Canada’s Financial Post and a wide variety of scholarly articles and reviews in journals such as The Journal of Business Ethics, Qualitative Research in Financial Markets, The Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, The Independent Review, History of Philosophy Quarterly, Episteme, and Business Ethics Quarterly. His books include Money, Markets, and Democracy: Politically Skewed Financial Markets and How to Fix Them (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016) as well as Cooperation and Excellence: A Pre-Modern Case for Capitalism (Lexington Books, 2017).

Henk Brand

Dr. Henk Brand has taught at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2010. Dr. Brand was a Business and Macro-Economist, ING-Bank, Head Office, Netherlands; Chair of the joint Graduate International MSc Program at the Leeuwarden Business School, Netherlands and the University of Glasgow Business School. Dr. Brand has lectured at: the European Summer School for Advanced Management; Gulf University for Science & Technology, Kuwait, where he was CMA Program Head; and in the CFA Program. Dr. Brand is a Certified Lecturer for the Securities & Investment Institute UK. He was also Dean of Marketing and Business Administration, Nahda University, Egypt, as well as former Adjunct Professor in the MSc Program, Curtain Graduate School of Business, Perth, Australia. Dr. Brand was also a visiting lecturer in Economics and Management at Albion College, Albion, Michigan, and a professional hockey coach in Europe.

Paul Brunet
BA (Laurentian University), PhD (McMaster University)
Psychology
Dr. Paul Brunet has been teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber since fall 2018. He completed his BA (Honours) in Psychology at Laurentian University and his PhD in Psychology at McMaster University. From 2009 to 2013, he was a research fellow in the School of Psychology at Queen’s University of Belfast in Northern Ireland. His research fellowship was part of the Social Signal Processing Network (SSPNet), which is an interdisciplinary network bringing together psychologists, computer scientists, and engineers among other specialties. Dr. Brunet has held limited term teaching positions at Mount Saint Vincent University, Cape Breton University, and Ryerson University. Currently, he is a part-time Individualized Tutor at Athabasca University, in addition to being a sessional lecturer at the University of Guelph-Humber. His teaching interests include Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Personality, and Social Psychology among other courses.

Dr. Jamie Burr has been teaching at the University of Guelph-Humber since 2016. Dr. Burr is an associate professor in Human Health and Nutritional Science and the director of the Human Performance and Health Research Laboratory at the University of Guelph. Dr. Burr’s work shares a joint focus on the role of exercise for promoting health and improving human performance. In this regard his work has focused on the cardiovascular and cardio-metabolic effects of prolonged and novel forms of exercise exposure in humans, ranging from persons with chronic disease to elite athletes.
